Gisela Schroeder’s Images Included in Puffin Exhibit

Club member Gisela Schroeder has several images in the Puffin’s exhibit, Beautiful Israel: Through the Eyes of the Puffin Camera Club: Photographs.

The exhibit is the result of a trip to Israel led by photographer Rachel Banai. The group visited visited Kibbutz Samar, near Eilat, and went on to visit and photograph a Bedouin woman in the Negev who grows medicinal herbs, archeological wonders in Petra, Jordan; a date plantation; a lighthouse beach at Eilat; the Dead Sea, Masada, and Tel Aviv. They also explored and photographed the natural crater Mitzpe Ramon, ancient copper mines at Timna, Jerusalem’s Arab marketplace and Old City Jewish and Christian sites.

Banai stated that, “My goal was to offer my students a grand tour, where they would get to know the people of Israel, as well as all the many sites that make Israel such a special place to visit and photograph.” The exhibit shows the many faces of Israel through various lenses.
